| About it failing. Wire could come out of a crimp from vibration as well. Though that'd be a fairly shitty crimp. Crimps cost less because they don't require heating or cooling time, and the crimp should be able to do the job specified, or else it was spec'd incorrectly. Most connections I did in my car I crimped and soldered; audio, grounding kit. Wire with liquid metal melted to the connector will give you a better signal transfer (though only marginally). I only crimped my gauge wires in the interior, because I did that when they were in the car, and didn't want to be soldering all over my interior. I've got about 5-6 years total experience in connector testing, in automotive, military and commercial environments. Everyone of them crimp, but from my experiences, it's because it costs less overall, while still getting the job done.
